PoolStars Description

PoolStars is a realistic feeling, 3D, multi-player pool game Control Interface The graphical user interface is comprised of six primary controls represented by either a ball, slider bar or a button. Other options do not become available until the need arises (e.g. a pushout shot). Ball-in-hand After a foul, or on the break you will be given ball-in-hand. You have two ways to move the cue ball to your desired location. If you right click and hold on the ball you will be taken to top-view. If you left click and hold on the ball you will be able to place the ball in 3d view. Aim Ball This is the ball on the left hand side. When clicking on this ball you can rotate the aim of the cue stick either right or left. Cue Elevation Ball This is the center ball. You can change the elevation of the cue stick by clicking on this ball and moving up or down. Sometimes due to situational circumstances like an impeding ball or rail in the way of your shot, the maximum range of this control will be restricted. English Ball (Spin) This is the ball on the right hand side. With this ball you can set the type of spin you would like your shot to have. Sometimes due to situational circumstances like an impeding ball or rail in the way of your shot, the maximum range of this control will be restricted. If you are against a rail and would like to use screw (backspin), you must add elevation to the cue stick in order to do so. This will of course add difficulty to the shot. Power Bar Slider The power ball slider is located underneath the control balls. This control affects the power given to the shot. The power bar includes lines so you can gauge and remember feel more now. Follow Through Slider This control is located to the right of the power bar slider. This is one of the most unique and advanced controls of the game. The default setting is in the middle. The purpose of the feature is to control the contact time, or follow through, on the shot. Scientifically, if you are applying no spin to the shot and are aiming exactly in the middle of the cue ball this function will have no effect. Only when you begin to use advanced tactics like side spin and jumping will you feel its effects. At first try raising the cue stick to the maximum 90-degree angle and using the extremes of this control. Then try it at 45-degree as in a jump shot setup. Advanced pool play revolves around the control of the cue ball, this feature adds a level of depth and difficulty in the game for advanced play. Mastering this control is key to mastering the game. Shoot Button This is the button that says, "Shoot." Click this button to take your shot. You can also hit the Enter key to shoot. Pushout Button On every shot immediately after a legal break in 9-ball the person whom turn it is to shoot has the option of making a pushout shot. This option will appear above the normal game controls on the left hand side. If you would like to pushout, select this option before you shoot and a pushout will be played. Your opponent will be given the option to accept their position or let you continue shooting Game Controls Mouse 1. Right Click: Adjusts Aim 2. Left Click: Adjusts Camera View 3.
