InstantPhotoColor Description

InstantPhotoColor is a tiny software tool which was specifically designed to help you bring back color to images that have a black-and-white effect. The installation process does not offer to add or download other third-party products, and after wrapping it up, the UI you come face to face with presents a plain and intuitive design. It encloses a menu bar, a panel for displaying photos and very few buttons. This means all user categories can work with it, without encountering difficulties. This software program supports, at import, multiple image formats, including PNG, JPG, BMP, TIFF and GIF, while projects can only be saved to the hard drive as PNG or JPG files. Uploading pictures is only possible with the help of the built-in file browser, as the “drag and drop” function is not integrated. In order to start the colorizing process, you are only required to choose a shade from a color palette and you can easily brush away. You should know the aforementioned panel also enables you to adjust the hue, saturation, red, green and blue levels, while the brush size can be controlled through a scroll bar. It is also possible to zoom in and out of images, and access some limited Help contents. However, these are not actually necessary, as the program is fairly easy to handle. The computer’s performance is not affected at all, because the CPU and RAM usage is always kept a low level. All in all, InstantPhotoColor is a pretty decent piece of software, dedicated to bringing back color to black-and-white images, with a good response time and a user-friendly environment. Nevertheless, its simplicity might keep away power users, and it could benefit from a little more work. Reviewed by Madalina Boboc, last updated on January 23rd, 2014
