DivX H.264 decoder Description

DivX H.264 decoder is a lightweight codec that enables you to decode video files and enhance their quality. It installs just like any other software following the classic wizard. There is no particular interface to the decoder once it is installed but you do get a simple configuration window that offers you quick access to all its functions. DivX H.264 decoder allows you to toggle multithreading which means that you get a much better performance out of the video playback if you own a multi-core computer. You can also activate deblocking and improve visual quality by smoothing sharpness on the edges, as well as use deinterlace. With DivX H.264 decoder it’s possible to directly adjust some of the more standard properties of the video material. Using sliders, you can correct or enhance brightness, contrast and saturation and since everything is done from the decoder window, it’s easy to obtain the modifications you want without too much hassle. The slider buttons can be translated to both positive and negative values and in case you go a bit too far from the original and feel that the modifications ruin quality instead of enhancing it, there's always the ‘Default’ button. You click it once, and the values for brightness, contrast and saturation are recalled to zero. A feature that DivX H.264 decoder brings and is very helpful is that it allows you to choose the pixel aspect ration. It enables you to select from ‘Original Trust Container’ and ‘Bitstream’, as well as force PAL and NTSC (default and widescreen). The latter is something you can definitely use in case the video is in NTSC and your tv only supports PAL format. In closing, DivX H.264 decoder is a handy little piece of software that you can easily use to get the best out of your video using the H.264 codec.
