A shopping cart metaphor is used to track items designated by the user for purchase. WebMerchant tracks the items to be purchased and can display an itemized list with the click of a button. When the user decides to purchase, WebMerchant provides the necessary payment methods so the purchased items can be delivered. If the product can be delivered electronically, automatic electronic delivery to an e-mail address is also available.
