At a few cents per message it's exceptionally cost-effective and you're always in touch, because your message goes to the recipient's cellular phone instantly, reaching them wherever they are. Expensive cellular talk-time is reduced to the minimum, lowering your communications charges significantly. What is SMS? 1. SMS or Short Message Service is a mobile phone text message system, that allows text messages to be received by GSM mobile telephones. Since GSM is a digital standard, it allows SMS messages to be transmitted over vast distances, spanning multiple networks, almost instantaneously. SMS is generally limited to 160 text characters per message, although some character sets such as Arabic or Greek has a 70 character limit. Fortunately a text message may span multiple SMS messages. SMS can also be used to deliver data for fun applications such as sending ring tones and picture messages. 2. What does it cost? This gateway uses a pre-paid mechanism called tokens, where one token equals one SMS. You purchase tokens online and order fulfillment is instantaneous. The price per token can be found on the price list. Each time a SMS is successfully delivered to the GSM network, a token is deducted. This does not mean the SMS was delivered, it simply means that the GSM network has accepted the command to deliver the SMS. 3. How does this gateway work? An account is created for each customer on this gateway. You purchase tokens on the gateway and then start sending SMS. Normally, SMS is very reliable. If this gateway reports a that the SMS was successfully transferred to the GSM network, you have an excellent probability that the SMS will be delivered. 6. What is our refund policy? Token purchases are non-refundable and has to be used in 3 months time. 7. Can I send bulk SMS? Yes, if you're sending SMS to your customers/clients/subscribers and they have opted to receive this information from you via SMS.
