MRU-Blaster Description

Virtually any application can make MRU (acronym for Most Recently Used) entries in your system, which are used to allow faster access to the recently used files. They are sometimes useful, but they can also reveal details about what you did on your computer, what documents you have opened, etcetera. This can be an important information source for prying eyes. MRU-Blaster scans the entire system looking for these entries; then, it shows you a list, and offers you the option to delete those you don't want to keep. Most of the MRU lists are stored in the Windows registry; this means that deleting them is not easy, because to eliminate them it is necessary to navigate among the many choices and strings in the very delicate Windows registry. Moreover, this program allows you to search and delete: addresses written into the Internet Explorer (or other Web browser) address bar, the open documents in Microsoft Office, the commands entered in the Run option, the Google Toolbar history and so on. But MRU-Blaster makes it easy. You just press the Scan button and then Clean Now. It is a truly effective implementation of the best of its kind, since it can eliminate the MRU lists that other applications cannot find.
