Livestation Player Description

Livestation Player is a nifty piece of software that enables you to view free TV channels from all over the world. During installation, you are required to create an account in order to initiate the application (you do not have to confirm the e-mail address). Livestation Player's interface is very simple to use, populated with five tabs - My Channels, Search, What's Hot, Twitter and Alerts. A quick tutorial introduces you to the main features of Livestation Player. For example, you can switch viewing mode to channel carousel and easily work your way through the channels. The list of channels to which you have quick access is displayed in the first tab, but you can also search for new ones (or see what's hot right now), view their rating, and easily add them to your list. If you have channels that you never view, then delete them (they can be further restored with the Manage button). The most important aspect of Livestation Player is the fact that it is based on peer-to-peer connections. So, the more users on one channel, the better the quality of the stream. Plus, you can view two channels at once (split screen), and you can toggle between them by clicking the one you want to hear. In addition, you can use a filter to locate TV channels, log in with your Twitter account, and view a history of alerts you have received. Overall, the sound and image quality is pretty good in Livestation Player, but the available channels are limited in numbers and not all of them work, we were not able to log in with a Twitter account, the program lacks advanced settings, and it uses a high amount of system memory. Nevertheless, Livestation Player certainly has the potential to become extraordinary. Reviewed by Elena Opris, last updated on November 21st, 2013
