FunkyFX Plug-In for Winamp Description

FunkyFX Plug-In for Winamp is an audio & visual plugin for Winamp. FunkyFX monitors Winamp's audio output, and generates graphics in time to the music. FunkyFX Plug-In for Winamp has four modes of operation (modules): FyrewurX: The first, and possibly most popular mode generates colourful fire works in time to the music. The fire works are completely customisable, so you can have huge, red explosions when the bass kicks in, and subtle blue flashes when higher frequencies are dominant. FrequencywurX: The second module to be added to FunkyFX was an extremely fast, colourful spectrum analyser. Recent improvements have included support for different layouts (mono, stereo and diamond) and orientations. FlamewurX: Although the first version of this effect was very processor intensive, the addition of MMX support has vastly improved the speed of this effect. Also news is the addition of sparks, and the option to change the flame's colour. For kicks, we also added a simple oscilloscope (because we can). FototriX: This all-new modules allows you to warp and twist photos in time to the music (see the screenshots for more details). I first had the motivation to do this effect when I saw the pulsing brain scene from the Headache demo by Statix (Psychic Link?). Further inspiration came from Kai's power goo and the iWarp plugin for Gimp. (The warping engine for this module became the foundations for the Warp-o-mat effect described below.) As well as these different modules, FunkyFX Plug-In for Winamp has several different refreshing options that can be used with FyrewurX and FrequencywurX to create some mind-boggling visuals: Clear: For people using 386s. Fade: A simple fading effect. Very quick, but mind-numbingly boring. Quick Blur: A quick blurring technique that looks good in high resolutions, but poor in low-res fullscreen modes. Smooth Blur: A much smoother blurring effect, but it can be a lot slower than Quick Blur. Warp: The all new refresh mode. The Warp-o-mat lets you create your own Warp-maps and save them for later use (or send them in to us!). The Warp-o-mat can also be used as a substitue to Kai's Power Goo if you get bored.
