BullGuard Backup Description

BullGuard Backup is a reliable application that enables you to automate the creation of data backup at regular intervals. The software allows you to create compressed, encrypted or recursive versions of the backup file and to save it to a local folder, as well as send it to the online cloud account. Customized profiles for data backupThe software allows you to save several backup configurations, called ‘profiles’. Each profile is based on four parameters: the ‘what’, ‘where’, ‘when’ and ‘how’. First thing, you need to assign a name to the profile, then proceed to setting the preferences. By default, the software offers to backup the ‘My Documents’ folder and the afferent subfolders, but you can easily extend the object of the process to other folders located on your computer or on remote memory drives. Moreover, you can include the data stored in email clients, such as Outlook, Windows Mail, Thunderbird or Windows Live, if the software are installed and configured on your computer. You may manually select which subfolder to include or exclude from the backup. The software allows you to store the output file in two locations, alternatively: online or offline. Location, schedule and method of backupThe online output location refers to a particular cloud account that you need to set up. Otherwise, you can save your file to your computer, external hard disk, USB memory drive or a network location. You can set the destination by browsing the computer and selecting the directory. The backup can be done on demand, or automatically, prompted by any modification of the files. Alternatively, you can set a schedule in order to control the creation of backups. The backup can be performed recursively, by synchronizing the old version of the file. Otherwise, the software can create new versions of the backup and save the old ones for a certain number of days. The document can be saved as a compressed file, with or without encryption.
