AntiFreeze Description
AntiFreeze is a simple-to-use program which allows you to suspend the currently running processes which are using high amounts of CPU and system memory. It can be easily handled, even by less experienced users. The interface of the application is based on a standard window which instantly suspends all currently running applications when you bring it up from the system tray area by using a predefined key combination. Unfortunately, you cannot change the hotkey. The list shows the name, product, status, CPU time, memory usage, size, description, company, process ID and location for each entry. So, you can select an item from the list and either terminate or resume its process. The program is somewhat similar to the default 'Task Manager' function provided by Windows. The difference is that AntiFreeze automatically suspends all the currently active processes when you bring up its window, instead of allowing you to terminate them individually. AntiFreeze runs on a very low amount of CPU and system memory, so it should work smoothly, even on older systems. It has a good response time and didn't cause the operating system to freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs during our tests. All in all, AntiFreeze is an indispensable tool for all users who usually run high-demanding programs which hog the system resources. Unfortunately, it has not been updated for a long while.
