AVIMonster is a simple and free cataloging tool that will help you to keep your AVI and DVD movie collection neatly organized. It will automatically retrieve as much information as possible from both the AVIMonster’s own servers and the best online movie database there is, IMDB, including the DVD cover, when available. Adding your AVI files could not be easier: AVIMonster will search your hard disks and external drives looking for files with the AVI extension and will add them to your personal database. Then, you can run the program’s automatic search process – this will look for basic information about your movie collection (year, genre, country, etc.), and will change the default icon with the corresponding poster or DVD cover. This will help you to locate your favorite titles visually in no time. This retrieving process may take a while (always depending on the size of your movie collection) and requires an Internet connection. Adding your DVD collection is not such a straightforward process though, as it requires you to type in each DVD title on a one-by-one basis. AVIMonster will then show you a list of possible matches (according to IMDb) for you to choose the right title, so that it can retrieve the missing information and fill in the gaps in your DVD records.
