If you want it can install the new relase. Yes the playstore-Version can become higher than the Server-Version. In this case this app notifies you that there is a new version and the download-button leads to the official playstore-entry of WhatsApp, so you can update as usual. Now there is a setting for example tablet user to prefer server-versions only and disable notification on new PlayStore-Version. Stay bleeding edge and up2date :-).
