Information empowers. Take the first step in overcoming anxiety by understanding the issues.Technology will be increasingly used to help with anxiety conditions, and other psychological problems. But it is unlikely to ever replace 100% the need for human interaction, and face-to-face medical, or clinical expertise.Anxt is developed by Dr Fiona O'Doherty, clinical psychologist, together with the mHealth app division of Ossidian Technologies.Too often, people suffering chronic anxiety don't understand it. They fear the apparent lack of control. Or even fear a condition that is caused by a problem with their brain. This lack of understanding can generate fear, and fear exacerbates the symptoms of anxiety. So what are the three key elements of Anxt?1. “Check Now” - multiple-choice quiz to rate an anxiety level on a simple scale. Provides a summary explanation of the rating.2. “Learn Now” - multiple-choice quiz (8 random questions). Provides an understanding of anxiety conditions, and some indications as to how to alleviate symptoms. Regular use of Anxt will consolidate learning. Achieving a score of 8 out of 8 on a regular basis should significantly increase a user's understanding, and learning of anxiety.3. “Act Now” - list a set of tasks to be defined, and undertaken. Anxt charts anxiety ratings over time, improvements in comprehension of anxiety, and progress with the regular tasks.
