Symlink Manager Description

Created to be used with iTunes' Music folder to move Authors' music folders to an external storage device. Symlink Manager allows the movement of folders or file items to another location while creating, in replacement, a symbolic link with the same name of the moved item and linking it to the item's new location. It also allows to revert the process and will delete the symbolic link and move the folders or files back to where the symbolic link was located.This program was created to be used with iTunes Music folder in order to move some Authors' music folders to an external storage device. In this way it is possible to have some music in the local computer and other music in an external storage device while having only one iTunes Library.It does not affect iTunes' functionality, except that when the external storage device is not connected iTunes will report a missing file for the song located in the external device. In this way you keep your favorite songs in your laptop to have them on the move, and the not-so-favorite songs in the external device. This helps to save precious space in your laptop HD. With the external storage device connected, iTunes even synchronizes with the iPod without problems.You can use Symlink Manager in any situation when it's necessary to move data and work with a symbolic link replacing it.Note: It is not recommended to symlink the Popcast folder in iTunes Music folder. Do not "Consolidate Library" if you have symbolic links in your iTunes Music folder. Always have a backup available when you use this program or another to move data.
