Kotoba - Free screensaver that will display 1st grade kanji characters on your idle desktop Kotoba is japanese for words, or speech. Japanese is written using three "alphabets." Two of those three, called hiragana and katakana, are syllabaries (each character is one syllable long with no intrinsic meaning). Each syllabary is about 46 basic characters. Kanji is the Japanese word for Chinese characters and is logographic (basically, each character has a meaning).
