GARLI Description

Phylogenetic analysis of molecular sequence data using the maximum-likelihood criterion GARLI stands for Genetic Algorithm for Rapid Phylogenetic Inference and it is basically a program for inferring phylogenetic trees. GARLI uses an approach similar to a classical genetic algorithm, so that it can rapidly search the space of evolutionary trees and model parameters to find the solution maximizing the likelihood score. GARLI implements nucleotide, amino acid and codon-based models of sequence evolution, and runs on all platforms.
