AutoTyper Description

Repairs type and creator codes of files dropped on it according to the file name extension. AutoTyper is a drag & drop utility and therefore it requires System 7 or higher. If you drag files on it's icon it will just try to fix the file type and creator and then quit.In order to select the proper file type AutoTyper examines the file name's extension: e.g. files with a name ending on .txt get their file type set to TEXT. An initial list of known extensions and their corresponding file types and creators is built into the source. AutoTyper already knows about following file types:· various archive types· various sound types· various movie/animation standards· various graphics standards· a wide variety of text types· ZX Spectrum related files All files with unknown extensions are ignored. The new icon is displayed after a while or after the enclosing folder is closed and reopened again. (this depends on Finder version.)
