logkeys is a free and modern command-line application written in C++ and designed to act as a keylogger application only for GNU/Linux-based operating systems only. It is much more reliable and stable than existing Linux keyloggers, but is a bit more up to date, it doesn't unreliably repeat keys and it should never crash your X. logkeys just works, as any good keylogger should work, and the best of all is that it relies on the event interface of the Linux input subsystem. Once installed, the application will run in the background and automatically log function keys and common characters. The software is engineered in such a way that it can recognize the AltGr and Shift key modifiers. Also, logkeys works well with USB and serial keyboards.
