HomeBak is a Perl program that uses ARJ32 or 7-Zip to create archives of directories. HomeBak is a Perl program that uses ARJ32 or 7-Zip to create archives of directories you specify in one or more configuration files and backup these archives.You can use more configuration files if you want to or, at least, one. It uses wincron (known from Linux/Un*x crond) to start jobs. You do not have to use wincron, but it works fine for any scripts and other jobs. The software is free and stands under the GNU General Public Licence, please read the GPL carefully.Requirements:· PerlInstallation:Be sure you are root.To install the script just copy the homebak.pl file to any direcory you want to. Make the script executeable for root like #> chmod +x /root/bin/homebak.pland change the permissions for example like #> chmod 0700 /roo/bin/homebak.plDo the same for homebak.rc and copy this file to /etc/ - directory.Configuration:Edit the /etc/homebak.rc file for your needs.Then make an entry for crond, for example: #> echo "00 22 * * 5 root /root/bin/homebak.pl" >> /etc/crontabThis adds an entry to /etc/crontab that runs homebak every Friday at 22:00 o'clock.What's New in This Release:· only some minor changes
