Gcr Description

Gcr is a totally free and open source library software, designed as a replacement for the libcryptui library, which can be used for displaying certificates and access key stores. Actually, the project includes two libraries: Gcr and Gck. While the first one is used for displaying certificates and crypto UIs, as well as for accessing key stores, the Gck library is used for accessing PKCS#11 modules, such as smart cards, in a (G)object oriented way. The Gcr project also provides a way for viewing crypto files on the GNOME desktop environment. It will replace the libcryptui in the near future.
