ANNFiD Description

ANNFiD is an open source graphical software written in the Java programming language and designed to be used for recovering incomplete or corrupted files. In other words, ANNFiD, which stands for Artificial Neural Networks File Detection, is a forensic utility that can be used to identify file types, once they are recovered, by using neural networks. At the moment, the software supports the following file types: PDF, GIF, TIFF and JPEGs (uncompressed). However, users will be able to add support for more file types, and if you are using files not setup in ANNFiD, or proprietary files, then you can learn how to setup them in this video: http://youtu.be/kG38ajYAo40 Being written in Java, ANNFiD is a platform-independent application that supports Linux, Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
